following his service as a Merkava Tank Platoon commander in the I.D.F’s 7th Brigade with honorary citation, Horowitz decided to pursue his academic and athletic careers at Columbia University in New York. It was there that the Political Science/ International affairs major made his most significant progress as a competitive athlete. Horowitz, who is a native of Jerusalem, was on the track team as a sprinter and shot putter before switching to the glorious sport of Rugby. Horowitz has also had the honor of representing Israel with its national team in the world cup of flag football. This sound foundation in power sports helped him later secure his spot on the IBT. He hopes that his alpine climbing experience will prepare him for the sport’s cold weather. Lately, Horowitz can be found shuttling between NY and Jerusalem trying to juggle his many commitments
